Erin Cuevas is a creative director, architect, creative technologist, and academic. She is the co-founder of Curious Minds Los Angeles (CMLA), a design studio led by Cuevas and Jana Masset Collatz.
Dismantling the privileged view in lieu of a shared stage, Cuevas’s multimedia performance work advances the inclusive potential of scenography through storytelling that amplifies underrepresented voices, site-specific public community events, and accessible emerging technology. Her work as director of Project XYZ and co-founder of Curious Minds Los Angeles unites architects, choreographers, technologists, and filmmakers in highly interdisciplinary projects.
Previously, Cuevas was the Director of Global Retail Story Design at Nike, leading interactive digital media for retail installations, including the 2024 Paris Olympics. Her work has been featured at LA Dance Project Studios, A+D Museum, Architektur Galerie Berlin, and the Northwest ByDesign Film Festival 2020. She was named to Cultured Magazine’s Young Architects 2021 list and earned first place at the World Stage Design conference in 2022.
Cuevas served as the Harry der Boghosian Fellow at Syracuse university school of Architecture during the 2024–25 academic year, where she developed “Redefining Performance,” a research project exploring emerging design practices that bridge architecture, artistic disciplines, and communities. She previously taught digital media and architecture at the USC School of Architecture (2017–2022) and was a resident of Goldsmiths University’s Motion Capture program in 2022.
Cuevas holds a Master of Architecture with Distinction from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
